I am going to write about all the books i’ve read this year, what happened in the book and why i read it.
The first book i read this year was Evil Star. In this book Matt wants to get back to living a normal life but he can’t because he’s a gatekeeper and has tot protect the world from evil ancient creatures from entering the world. He has to learn how to use his powers and to find the other four gatekeepers. A group called Nexus who know about his powers said that there was a gate opening in Peru and he has to go there to protect the world but he doesn’t know exactly where in Peru. I really enjoyed this book because it was full of action and it was the best book I’ve read so far. I recommend people to read this book because its a type of book that is different to other books that I’ve read and it makes you want to read on.
After that i read football detective. I found this book interesting because i like football and its nice to read a book about something you like. In this book a nigerian football player is getting scouted by two english men and they say manchester city are interested in getting the player. They also say that have to give the english men ten thousand pounds . When the player gets to England there was no one to get him so he was tricked and the englishmen are after him for putting this on the newspaper. And a kid tries to help him and in the he actually gets to play for manchester city and the two englishmen were arrested. I liked this book because i didn’t know this would happen and the way they solved the problem i found interesting.
Percy Jackson and the lightning thief. In this book Percy Jackson finds out that he is not a normal human being and that he is half god and his father is poseidon. His freind (who is half human half satyr) scences half gods and his job is to bring half bloods to half blood camp which is a place where they stay and learn to fight. Later on in the book Percy Jackson gets accused of stealing Zeus lightning bolt and gets sent to a quest to find it. I read this book because the authour Rick Riordan was known for writing amazing books like the Percy Jackson sequel.
After this book i read Percy Jackson and the sea of monsters. I carried on reading Percy Jackson books because when i read the first one i was enjoying the book. In this book there is a sacred tree and when Annabeth (daughter of Athena) was seven she had a close friend called Thalia (daughter of Zeus and she sacrificed her life to save Annabeth and the satyr. Instead of her dieing she turned into a pine tree and Luke poisoned the tree and the only way to keep the camp safe is by getting the golden fleece which luke and his gang are after swell. I really enjoyed reading this book because it really entertained me and it convinced me to read it more because of the action and adventure.
As i was enjoying this sequel i went on to read Percy Jackson Battle of the labyrinth. The book started with Percy Jackson going to a new when he sees a girl (Rachel) who can see creatures through the mist. There were then three girls who transformed into a lizard but luckily Percy Jackson killed them but as humans can’t see through the mist they saw that Percy Jackson set fire in the kitchen then ran away. After this Percy Jackson goes to camp and finds out the camp is in danger of being controlled by creatures. So Percy, his half brother, Annabeth and the satyr go underground to the labyrinth and see the creator of the labyrinth and he helps them take control of the camp. I found this boo very intresting and i can’t wait to read the next Percy Jackson book.
The next book after the Percy Jackson sequel was Darren Shan and the vampire prince. Even thou this wasn’t the first book i still understood what happened in the previous books. When the book starts we find out that Daren Shan is going down a furious river which is very unlikely he’ll survive because he saw his best friend kill his friend because he wasn’t part of the vampire crew. When Darren saw this he ran and the vampaneze and Kurda chased him and Darren was forced to go down the river which was likely he would die. When Darren gets his consciousness back he wakes up very cold and he was weak and he knew he wouldn’t survive for long. Luckily for him he met a wolf that helped him up the mountain and covers him withs his fur and carried him to a warmer place and gave him food. After all this confusion Darren goes back to the mountain but he came back with a risk because to be part of the crew he had to do 11 challenges which is life and death and he failed a challenge but ran away so he wouldn’t face the consequence. He went back and Kurda was going to be prince of the vampire crew but Darren came just in time and told the kings his story and Kurda didn’t denie what Darren said so what Darren said was the truth. After a bloodthirsty war with the vampaneze, Darren was awarded to be prince of the vampire crew for saving the vampires. I really enjoyed reading this book because of the action and the way Darren Shan wrote the book convinced me to carry on reading the book. I recommend people to read this sequel because it is a very interesting book full of action and adventure.
After i read this sequel i read “Guinness world record 2015.” In the book it has many world records that people have achieved. Some are crazy like the woman with the longest nails with a length of 3ft! I really enjoyed this book because its a non-fiction book and I hardly read any real life book so it was a different book than i normally read. I also enjoyed the book because it had many facts and it was interesting reading a book of world records because its un common that you see people read a world record book. I recommend people to read this book because you can learn new things that people do.
